Stewed Apple and Blackberry with Cinnamon

It is starting to feel very autumnal, and keeping with whats in season I felt a comforting stewed apple and blackberry with a sprinkle of cinnamon was what was needed. Not just that but the apple trees in our garden are overflowing with apples and its a great way of using them up. Again I am all for something quick and easy but healthy. Peel, core and roughly chop up your apples in to chunks. Throw in to a pan with a punnet of blackberries and a good sprinkle of cinnamon, add some hot water just to cover the base of the pan and simmer for around 10-15minutes or until nice and soft. Great for breakfast, a snack or evening treat. Enjoy, Zara x

"Supporting Mental Health Through Fitness" Campaign

As a personal trainer, exercise and physical activity can have a huge impact on the mental health and wellbeing of my clients. As well as being a great workout for the body, exercise is also great for the mind and can help to boost your mood - whether you've been diagnosed with a mental health condition or not. Let's look at some facts first from mind.org.uk... How common are mental health problems? Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week. How common are specific problems? Every seven years a survey is done in England

Greek Bean, Lentil & Feta, A Quick Put Together Lunch

Sometimes we do not have the time to prepare for a healthy meal, so this is a great alternative if you don't have the time to home cook. You can buy the Greek beans at Tesco's, Sainsbury's and Waitrose supermarkets, already marinated in the tomato and herb sauce, the ones I have used are from Waitrose, the make is Zanae. Just heat them up gently, pop on the plate, sprinkle some Puy lentils (again can be brought at most supermarkets already cooked in a packet), and then top with some crumbled feta. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice to taste. Great with a salad. Literally about 5 mins and you have a tasty, low calorie lunch. Enjoy, ZT x
